Early Flash Synchronizer for LEICA and Similar Cameras

Early flash synchronizer for LEICA and similar cameras that have a rotating exposure time dial.  Very similar devices were marketed by Leitz.

The flash synchronizer is attached to the accessory shoe of the camera via an insulating plastic piece. The synchronizer has a vertically adjustable contact piece that sits on top of the exposure time dial.  A metal piece on top of the exposure time dial will touch the contact piece and trigger the flash by connecting it to ground (the camera body).  The metal piece on top of the dial is missing.

Pictures #4 and #5 show the synchronizer on top of a Leica III (camera is not included).
