Whether at Professional Stamp Experts, the Philatelic Foundation or any other certifying body that charges for its services, saving money on a certificate that would state that your stamp is altered or fake is better spent on more stamps, especially if the knowledge to detect that deception is readily available.

The name, The Book of Philatelic Secrets is based on a lesser definition of “Secrets”. The same way that the “secret to a long and happy life” or the “secret to a good marriage” is a secret only until a person chooses to investigate it, such are the “Secrets” in this book. These are not secrets that are being hidden from you. They won’t make you an expert but they will make you a better, happier collector who avoids the bad news that your valuable collection is not-so-valuable.
