Our condition and grading guide:
Like New:
Perfect, like new condition. No scratches, dents, spots or marks. May have been tried on or worn less than a handful of times.

Rejuvenated: Preloved condition but has been recently professionally polished, stone settings all checked or had the rhodium reapplied. Extremely well looked after, taken off when bathing, swimming and playing sports, removed when washing dishes and gardening. Its home was more often than not… the jewellery box. Micro scratches, and odd spots or marks may be present.

A grade: The previous owner loved it so much they hardly ever took it off. Closer inspection may reveal, and you can expect: some light abrasions or scratches on the edges of the stone, the underside of rings will have some scratches, a link or clip may be bent, dented or loose. Areas of the bands may be thinning. This in no way will affect the look or utility of the piece. Just know that someone loved it, and now you get to.

B grade: Are you the type of person to wear the heck out of your jewellery? Great, because so was the previous owner. It looks like it was put through a lifetime of adventure. Character has been built with this piece, its now your turn to put it to the test. You can expect obvious scratches, small chips to the stone edge, heavy abrasions. The bands may have dents or a dodgy resize has been attempted. No missing stones, it could do with a polish and a steam bath, but not necessary.

C grade: Maybe it was stepped on and hammered back into place. It doesn’t matter, this piece still deserves love. This piece is wearable, and perfect for a first piece of everyday jewellery. Perfect for you if you want something that can’t get any more beat up.

Project Ready: Perfect for your next project, or to add to your scrap metal collection. The setting is bent backwards, stones are no longer be where they should be, the clasp has gone walkabout, and the links have snapped. Melt and reclaim the remaining stones or wear as is. It’s up to you. No refunds… obviously.

All pieces are “Solid” Gold or Silver. This includes but is not limited to: 9ct gold, 10ct gold, 14ct gold, 18ct gold, 22ct gold, 24ct gold, 925 silver, 850 silver, 835 silver, 935 silver, 999 silver, and all standard gold and silver content percentages through time. If a piece is gold or silver plated, vermeil, gilt or filled, the description will clearly state it.

The dictionary definition of: “SOLID GOLD” is: “Being made entirely out of gold, rather than merely having a plating over another metal” (Plated, coated, gilt, filled). This statement is not subjective.

The design of a “Hollow core” piece or a “Filled core” piece does not refer to the gold content. “SOLID GOLD” does not refer to the design of the piece. E.g. a piece can be solid gold but have a hollow core design.

There is a margin of error to consider regarding gold content. Hallmark gold content stamps are not always 100% accurate (e.g. a 9ct gold ring stamped 375, may in fact be 36% gold instead of 37.5%). Furthermore, just because a piece does not have hallmarks, does not mean its not gold. We are a legitimate business, if we say a piece is 9ct gold, even though there isn’t a hallmark, we are not making it up, it has been tested.
