The name Biedermeier orginated in Germany around 1815 as a response to political burnout on Germany and Austria

The Biedermeier style moves away from the opulence of French Empire and emphasises instead a reassuring sense of domesticity.

The Biedermeier period was an era in Central europe between 1815 and 1848 during which the middle classes grew in number and the arts began to appeal to their sensibilities

The period began with the end of the Napoleonic wars in 1815 and ended with the onset of the revolutions of 1848

The Biedermeier period in Sweden began around 1830 with the accession of a Frenchman to the Throne of Sweden who became known as Karl Johan- the name by which the style of Biedermeier furniture is known in Sweden

Original Biedermeier furniture made in the period between 1815 & 1848 can cost several thousands of pounds ranging from £5000 to over £20,000 in some cases

Any chairs made out of that period are still Biedermeier and are still of the highest quality but just less valuable...These ones I am selling relatively cheap or at the lower price range of similar items of the same age.

All items in excellent condition with minor wear or signs of use..These chairs have been extremely well looked after
