When a gang of drug addict street punks rob a pharmacy, heavily armed police arrive and a bloodbath ensues. The only survivor is sentenced to death but mysteriously is swept away from the electric chair by a clandestine organization and given a choice: go through training and work for them or they’ll execute her themselves. What follows is unpredictable, thrilling, romantic and stylishly shot. The action was groundbreaking and so artfully shot and choreographed it has been imitated by other action films for over three decades now and spawned an American remake. Many of the stars made such an impact that they went on to roles in the United States as well. The cast includes Anne Parillaud (of INNOCENT BLOOD and THE MAN IN IRON MASK), Tchéky Karyo (of KISS OF THE DRAGON, BAD BOYS and THE PATRIOT), Jean-Hugues Anglade (of KILLING ZOE, MAXIMUM RISK and HBO’s THE SOPRANOS), and probably most famous of all JEAN RENO (international star best known for GODZILLA, THE PROFESSIONAL, RONIN and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE).
