The Russian watch factory Vostok (Russian Восток "East", "Orient") was founded in 1942 on the orders of Joseph Stalin and is now located in the city of Chistopol, 800 km east of Moscow. The relocation of the Second Moscow Watch Factory became necessary during the Second World War due to advancing Wehrmacht troops.
Since then, Vostok has been one of the official suppliers of the Russian and former Soviet armies. After the end of the Second World War, wristwatches were also produced in addition to on-board clocks for aircraft, tanks and submarines. However, until recently these were only available in special stores exclusively for military personnel.
These new VOSTOK watches are powered by the robust and reliable VOSTOK automatic movement and have a stainless steel case with a rotating bezel.
The decorated caseback is screwed on and thanks to the screwed crown, the VOSTOK is water resistant to 200 meters.
