USS Cummings; This 341 foot Mahan Class destroyer was built in Staten Island, NY

and commissioned in 1936. This active vessel fought in the Pacific Theater of

WW II and earned seven WW II battle stars, including the bombardment

of Iwo Jima. The ship was decommissioned on 14 December 1945 and sold

for recycling into scrap metal in 1947.
