This auction is for a vintage Swedish folk costume cap that I believe comes from Gagnef or a nearby municipality
in Dalarna, Sweden. The cap is made of white cotton with a wide band of handmade bobbin lace along the front. The lace measures 3.5" wide x 15" long. In good condition with a small area of wear at the top of the cap along the middle fold (see photos). There is also some discoloration from wear, but this will come out with a proper soak. I did not wash it as the lace is still so nicely starched and I wouldn't know how to replicate this after washing. A wonderful authentic addition to your folk costume. There are a few other Swedish costume pieces listed in my auctions now.
