Unbranded Czech Bassoon Circa 1840-1870 HISTORIC COLLECTION

Here's a very nice Czech bassoon dating from 1840-1870. Wood is in overall good condition. Some cracks in bell as well as a crack in the bocal. Former owner reports that it had an overhaul at some point by Leslie Ross - we cannot verify.

Provenance: The Historic Collection. This is from the collection of a well-known researcher and historian of woodwinds who spent a lifetime collecting rare and unique instruments. We are privileged to offer items from this collection for sale.

As this instrument is historically interesting we have chosen to not do restoration work on it and leave that to the eventual owner. Instrument will likely need pad and keywork to be playable.
