This is a striking beautiful Japanese Meiji cloisonné vase with the shape of a long slender neck rising from a semi-globular body.   The vase is in round form with the base of the neck inverting and then curving out to a flared-out mouth.   The vase is made from copper sheet with brass  rims, throat plate, and base plate.

 

The design in beautiful graphic depiction a fierce colorful dragon swirling around the widest part of the body and the tail winding up on the neck .  The dragon has yellow eyes and bright red flames with a blue-gray body and head, and with a white underbelly.  The background is a wireless highly polished deep dark midnight blue. 

 

6" tall.  Signed by impressed mark on the base by an unverified artist.  Excellent condition with a small chip on the orange flake near the mouth.       Stand not included.  Ask all questions before bidding.
