Originale altkolorierte Karte aus dem Verlag von Blaeu mit Darstellung von Irland und einem kleinen Teil von Schottland und England sowie der Isle of Man.

Mit großem und prächtigen Wappenkupfer sowie ornamentaler Titelkartusche und dem typischen Wappen mit der Harfe in der linken Kartenhälfte.

Verso mit lateinischem Text und großer Holzschnitt-Initiale.

Willem Janszoon Blaeu war ein bekannter niederländischer Kartograph und Verleger. Er studierte bei dem berühmten dänischen Astronomen Tycho Brahe. Er ließ sich in Amsterdam nieder, wo er Instrumente und Globen verkaufte sowie Karten veröffentlichte.

Blatt: 61,4 x 53,5; Platte: 50,5 x 39 cm.

ZUSTAND

In sehr gutem Erhaltungszustand. Kräftiger Druck und detailreiches schönes Altkolorit.

Die Karte ist gleichmäßig nur minimal gebräunt, im oberen Außenrand wenig wasserfleckig und unten rechts mit leichter Quetschfalte. Außerordentlich breitrandig. Festes Büttenpapier.

DESCRIPTION

Original old coloured map from the Blaeu publishing house with Ireland and a small part of Scotland and England and the Isle of Man.

With large and very impressive coat-of-arms and ornamental title cartouche with the typical harp.

Verso with Latin text and large woodcut initial.

Willem Janszoon Blaeu was a well-known Dutch cartographer and publisher. He studied under the famous Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe. He settled in Amsterdam, where he sold instruments and globes and published maps.

CONDITION

In very good condition. Strong print and detailed nice oldcolouring. In the upper outer margin minimal waterstainend, slightly crease in the lower right corner. Wide margins. Strong handmade paper.
