The Yamaha FG's original head shape features a logo that resembles a tuning fork. The truss rod cover is engraved with "Since 1966," indicating the origins of Yamaha guitars.

The top is made of Sitka spruce veneer with A.R.E. Even though it is new, it produces a rich sound that makes you feel as if it has been played for many years, and the warm mid-low range that is unique to mahogany wood produces a powerful sound. The cohesive sound is perfect for chord strokes or rhythmic fingerstyle playing.

Solid mahogany is used for the side/back. It achieves the warm and rich midrange that is unique to mahogany.

<Cow bone upper and lower pieces>
Cow bone (#5 grade only) is used for the upper and lower pieces. Cow bone is extremely hard and allows for more effective sound transmission from the strings to the neck and body. A high level of skill is required to install and adjust the beef bone nuts, and each guitar is carefully manufactured one by one by skilled guitar craftsmen in Japan.

Aiming to obtain the ideal warm tone, we are making repeated improvements by combining pseudo-prototypes using the latest acoustic analysis simulation technology and prototypes made with woodwork. The scalloped bracing used in the FG/FS#800 series has been optimized to match the characteristics of the wood itself and the same type of FG and FS, achieving further expansion of the low frequency range.

The top plate features Yamaha's unique Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (A.R.E.). By controlling temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure with high precision, we can produce changes in a short period of time similar to the aging of wood after a long period of time after sawing, thereby increasing sound transmission and vibration efficiency, and improving the growth of mid- and low-frequency sound components. Realizes acceleration, increased rise of high frequency components, and faster decay. A.R.E. processing provides a mature, warm sound with good balance and less harsh overtones, creating the sound of a guitar that has been played for years.

The newly developed Atmosfeel 3-way pickup system uses an under-saddle piezo sensor for mid-low range, a microphone mounted on the preamplifier for low range, a uniquely developed extremely thin contact sensor for high range, and 3. Different pickups ensure that each range is captured.
