Scarce late 1800's double lion's head German sword with languet featuring the Saxon state emblem on one side and the opposite side engraved with the recipients initials. Note the ornate presentation engraving on the knuckle bow as a 'State Prize' award probably a shooting trophy.

The blade, though free of chips or sharpening, has grayed somewhat from age and the etching on either side is difficult to make out.The guard, fittings and grip are excellent without damage. The grip wire is excellent as is the grip 'skin' as well.
