Product Description

Collection of four epic action adventures. 'Troy' (2004), set in 1193 BC, is based on Homer's sprawling epic poem 'The Iliad'. It tells the story of Paris, Prince of Troy (Orlando Bloom), who falls in love with the wife of King Menelaus of Sparta (Brendan Gleeson), the beautiful Helen (Diane Kruger). He persuades her to leave her husband and go back with him to Troy, sparking a war between the Mycenaeans, led by Menelaus's brother, Agamemnon (Brian Cox), and the armies of Troy, led by Prince Hector (Eric Bana). The City of Troy, governed by King Priam (Peter O'Toole) has never before succumbed to seige or battle, but Agamemnon and the Mycenae Greeks have a formidable ally: the great and seemingly indomitable Achilles (Brad Pitt). In 'Clash of the Titans' (1981) Perseus (Harry Hamlin), the son of the King of the Gods (Laurence Olivier), must protect his love, Andromeda (Judi Bowker), against the Kraken, which has been set on her in a revenge plot by sea goddess Thetis (Maggie Smith). In the 2010 remake of 'Clash of the Titans', Sam Worthington Stars as Perseus with Liam Neeson as Zeus, the King of the Gods. When Hades (Ralph Fiennes), the God of the underworld, threatens to seize power from Zeus, Perseus embarks on a life-threatening mission to defeat him. Joined by a group of brave warriors, '300' (2006), adapted from the comic series by Frank Miller, is a modern re-telling of the Battle of Thermopylae of 480 BC, when the 100,000 strong invading Persian Army of King Xerxes was held back in a narrow mountain pass by 300 Spartans. King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) is given four days by Persia's King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) to lay down his arms and surrender. Rejecting the proposal, the battle ensues, and the Spartans are only defeated by the treachery of a local shepherd, Ephialtes (Andrew Tiernan), who shows the Persians a secret route, enabling them to outflank their opponents.
