Split Cane Spinning Rod ROB WILSON of BRORA 2 Piece 7’ 2” Vintage 1956

The rod number is 8. 56 indicating that it was the 8th rod built in 1956.

Rob Wilson built split cane and later fibreglass rods from his tackle shop, Rob Wilson Rods & Guns, in Brora, Scotland from just after WW2. The rods are high quality, hand made rods said to rival the likes of Hardy and Sharpes.Rob Wilson was also involved in the development of the highly regarded salmon fly, the Willie Gunn.   

Vintage and used but still in good condition. Some minor cosmetic scuffs on the shaft and reel fittings. The handle has some small pieces missing from the cork. The eyes and whipping are in good order. The bag is intact and in good condition.
