This is a stunning hand-hammered 800 silver bowl by the Italian silver maker Lovi.  Hand-crafted in Venice, this bowl has a gorgeous raised design on all four sides depicting fruit -- pears, grapes, an apple, leaves.

Measuring 9" long, 6.5" wide and 2.5" high, it weighs 304 grams or 10.7 ounces.

Clearly marked in the inner bottom rim with LOVI 1900 VI (the Italian registration number for Lovi) 800 Cesellato a mano (hand-chased).

800 Silver is sometimes called Italian sterling silver, but it is actually stronger because it has slightly more alloy than sterling.  It is frequently used in Europe for silver pieces to make them more durable for use.

The bowl is in lovely condition with light signs of use - some serving marks in the inner bottom, and one small dent around the outer rim, shown in the photos.  There is no pitting, no deep scratches.  It is a beautiful piece for use or display.
