I'll start by saying that I don't know too much about old toy trains.
I'm counting on the BUYER to know what they are bidding on. This lot
includes a heavy (I "THINK" cast iron) electric train engine, or locomotive, and two tin
plate train cars. The undersides of all three items are marked,
"BW...GERMANY." I did a little research and found that "B.W." stands
for, "Bing Werkes" a German company that made some of the earliest
electric trains sets. The company went out of business in 1933. The
engine measures 6 to 6 & 1/2 inches long. The cars are 5 & 1/2
inches long - NOT including the couplings. I believe that this is "O
Gauge." All three items are marked, "NEW YORK CENTRAL LINES." NOTE: the
top of the engine has two holes on one end. (See photo with pencil
point.) I believe that a small light bulb went here, but THE PART THAT
HELD THE LIGHT IS BROKEN OFF AND MISSING. I don't see any other obvious
damage to the engine, other than paint wear and dust in hard to reach
areas. The parts seem to move properly, although I HAVE NOT TESTED IT.
The middle car is marked, "EXPRESS SERVICE BAGGAGE...UNITED STATES MAIL"
on both sides. It has a doors that open & close on each side. This
car is in good condition, with some paint rubs & scratches. The last
car is marked, "KENOSHA" on both sides. NOTE - THIS CAR IS MISSING THE
REAR AXLE AND WHEELS. (See close-up with pencil point.) Otherwise, it is
in good condition. You get all three items, which are guaranteed to be
old & original - made approx. 100 years ago (give or take) - or your
money back.
