postmarked April 16, 2011 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This 455' merchant cargo vessel

that was was one of a large group of Victory Ships named for American Cities. 

This ship was launched on Jan 16, 1945 by Calif. Shipbuilding Corp at Los Angeles, CA

and named for the City of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Color printed photo cachet #4691 of Victory ship by Alvin Eckert,

#9964 USCS. Photo by the late George Barber. Cover franked with 3 cent Merchant Marine stamp # 939 from 1946

and a 44 cent Liberty stamp. Seller has covers for all the Allied Nations,
