This is a unique photo album from WWII showcasing the Asiatic Theater and the USS Barker. The album contains original photographs and memorabilia that provide a glimpse into this historic time period. The items featured in this album are authentic and have been well-preserved. The album contains photographs from various locations and events during the war, including the USS Barker and its crew.
The photo album is leather, with the original tissue-like paper separating the pages. The slip case is silk embroidered with repairs. There are over 150 photographs. A few look to be cards he purchased (such as the "Sultan").  Also contains some personal scrapbook type items: letter, announcements, nightclub ticket, etc. As seen, includes a ship party for USS Barker, Aug 1939, at Beach Cafe, Chefoo China. Photos from Peking, the Great Wall, Hong Kong, several battle ships, and graphic photos from the bombing of Shanghai in 1937 (outside the Cathey Hotel). Some photos of the seaman's lovely bride, and the couple as they were older.

(Sailor's name, and graphic photos, have been covered out of respect, but are visible in the photos.)
