This eBay sale is for one  humbucker size P-90 style single coil pickup you can choose one bridge position pickup or one neck position pickup. The bridge pickup is wound clockwise, its magnetic orientation is North up and has a DC resistance of approximately 7.8 to 7.9 k-Ohm; the neck pickup is wound counter clockwise, its magnetic orientation is South up and has a DC resistance of approximately 6.8 to 6.9 k-Ohm. The coil of each pickup is surrounded by grounded shielding that is very effective in eliminating noise from external electric fields.

The adjustable pole pieces both feature a nickel-plated finish.

Bobbin top color options are: black, white, crème color.

 

These pickups are designed to allow the owner to change magnets. This feature provides you with the capability to alter the tone and output of these pickups to suit your needs. These pickups ship with one set of magnets installed in each pickup and one extra set of magnets for each pickup. Magnet types available are: AlNiCo-II, AlNiCo-III, AlNiCo-V and ceramic-8.

If P-90 single coil tone with reduced noise is your goal, these pickups deliver the goods.

These pickups feature vintage materials and methods of construction:

  • Interchangeable bar magnets under the bobbin
  • Nickel plated adjustable pole pieces
  • Vacuum potted in forming wax to eliminate microphonic squeal
  • Grounded shielding on the pickup coil and shielded output leads
  • Neck pickup is reverse polarity/reverse wound with respect to the bridge position pickup.

Each pickup in this set includes a specifications sheet detailing:

  • Winding direction
  • DC resistance
  • Inductance
  • Magnetic polarity
  • Magnetic field strength
  • Installation notes

A detailed wiring diagram with solder points indicated is included with each set of pickups.

 

Each pickup is individually hand made by Pete Biltoft at the Vintage Vibe Guitars facility. 

Installation of pickups is relatively easy, but does require that you have a good quality soldering iron (25 watt pencil type recommended, such as the Weller WTCTP) and a good quality multimeter (Fluke model 10, for example) to check your work. In addition, the reference book Guitar Player Repair Guide, published by Hal Leonard Publishing Corp, ISBN 0-87930-291-7 is recommended.

These pickups are guaranteed for 5 years from date of purchase for the original purchaser and will be repaired or replaced free of charge assuming there is no obvious physical damage. Details of the warranty are included on the specification sheets provided with each pickup.
