4 Antique Spangled Wooden Lace Bobbins

English * Circa 1870

Two of these antique carved wooden lace bobbins (at the top) were made by Joseph Haskins, widely acknowledged as the best of the English lace bobbin makers (see pp. 30-37 of Christine & David Springett's Success to the Lace Pillow). His bobbins have a very distinctive style and he's noted for especially ornate turning.

The two on the bottom look to have been made by William "Bobbin" Brown (p. 45).  They are all in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and glossy old patinas. The spangles all contain antique handmade glass beads and they measure 4 1/2" to 5" long.

I stand behind everything that I offer and guarantee that it is exactly as presented.
