Here we have nine varied and interesting cards featuring William Shakespeare's plays through the ages plus some leading players. They date from the early 20th century to quite recent. All but a modern Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) card are unused. They have minor edge and corner wear.

First we have an early 20th century card picturing the famed Shakespearean actor Wilson Barrett in "Hamlet" published by Delittle, Fenwwich and Co. and a 1937 view of the cast of a Royal Vic 1937 production, again of "Hamlet," in Kronborg, Sweden. This was published by Barammers Boghandel, Helsingor.

We also have a large RSC card from 1999 picturing the famous balcony scene from "Romeo & Juliet" mailed within Scotland and a modern-sized card publicizing a Lyceum, Edinburgh, Scotland, production of "As You Like It." The compelling image of an actress with a moustache illustrates the gender-bending nature of this wonderful comedy.

Finally we have five small color cards picturing different Shakespeare productions at Hilberry Classic Theatre, Wayne State University in Michigan. The plays were "Julius Caesar," "All's Well That Ends Well," "Taming of the Shrew," "Hamlet" and "Antony and Cleopatra." These come in two formats with black and blue backs.

A good cross-section of highly international Shakespeare postcards.

The postage costs on this item are higher than I would like and, after leaving them unchanged for several years, I have raised them slightly in line with the 2024 postage rates. I advise that items costing more than $40 be sent via tracked post and cannot be responsible for such items sent by ordinary post. British buyers will pay $3 for postage.

As I have some fixed-price lots, anyone who purchases one of my items might want to look at them before paying.

Additional postage is free for subsequent purchases unless they are too big for my normal very low basic rates.

When payment for lots won is received by teatime British time (it is usually dished up about 4:30) I normally post the item the next morning. Our village post office is closed on Saturdays, however, so if you pay on Friday the item cannot go out until the following Monday.
