[Used] Paul Reed Smith (PRS) / Custom 24-08 10Top Black Gold Burst Pattern Thin Neck [3.51kg] [S/N 342888]

Beautiful Custom24 in Black Gold Burst color is now available! !

The Custom 24 is a symbol of PRS itself, and its iconic existence dates back to 1985. The Custom 24-08 inherits the original Custom 24 specs such as maple top, mahogany back, 24 frets, 25-inch scale, patented Gen III tremolo, and 85/15 pickups, while incorporating a simple switch system. With this addition, you can achieve a wider variety of tones than ever before. Equipped with a mini-toggle switch for coil taps similar to the PRS 408 model, you can choose from 8 different pickup combinations, including humbucker + single coil and dual single coil unique to this model. Custom 24-08 delivers PRS quality playability, reliability, and an overwhelming variety of tones. Please check it by all means.

With the exception of some models, PRS guitars have not used much lacquer for some time, instead making extensive use of acrylic and polyurethane to create a hard yet thin coating, which has been the standard for this brand up until now. There is no doubt that it was a rational coating that had the advantages of both polyurethane and lacquer. However, it is easy to imagine that the reason for using lacquer coating was to pursue further sound improvement rather than cost and production efficiency. The price of electric guitars has tended to rise year by year for all brands, but despite their high quality, PRS guitars remained at a reasonable price and remained almost unchanged for a while. This is due to the fact that the V-12 finish and previous paints were both highly efficient in production and good in sound, and were painting techniques that no other manufacturer could imitate. PRS, which never stops evolving, has finally given up on production efficiency and focused on improving sound all at once. The result is this 2020 spec custom 24-08.

The tuner uses the "Tweaked" Phase III Locking Tuners, which were installed in the McCarty 594 and became a hot topic. The distance between the peg button and the shaft can be adjusted, which changes the way the machine head vibrates (makes the sound violent, etc.). This is a tuner that allows you to adjust the

The 85/15 pickup was also changed to TCI. We have reviewed the wiring of the conventional 85/15 pickups, and the sound has changed dramatically just by changing the winding method.

By changing the finish, tuner, and pickup, the clean sound is noticeably clearer and softer than the previous model. There are fewer harsh highs than ever before, and the balance is slightly closer to the bass side, giving a calmer impression. In particular, the crunch sound was very pleasant, and it felt a little closer to a McCarty model. Is it really okay to go this far? ! That's what I think. I thought it might have simply lowered the output, but for some reason it seems to be good at high gain, and the sound doesn't get crushed even when I distort it strongly. The distortion is firm and beautiful, and the long sustain is still intact. Is this because TCI is working?

If I had to sum it up in words, it would be enough to say that the versatile guitar has become even more versatile, but when you actually play it and compare it, you'll notice that the sound has improved tremendously. I think you can understand.
