Here we have a scarce and unusual "Free Matter For The Blind or Handicapped" 1980 cover from Colorado to New Jersey. The neat and small envelope has minor wear and discoloration.

The sender was David H. Shortridge, 1510 Eisenhower 128, Boulder CO 80303. The ink of this handstamp seems to match that of the "free matter" one. The envelope bears a Denver machine postmark of 14 Jul 1980. The addressee is Dr. Edward Mueller, Box 1293, Englewood Cliffs NJ. The reverse has several Transorma-type sorting marks in red.

A neat and elusive free frank, matter for the blind or handicapped and Colorado cover that might benefit from research.

The postage costs on this item are higher than I would like and, after leaving them unchanged for several years, I have raised them slightly in line with the 2024 postage rates. For items worth more than $40 I recommend using the signed-for service ($10.50) and cannot be responsible for such items sent by ordinary mail. As I have some buy-it-now lots, anyone who makes a purchase might want to look at them before paying. If you buy more than one item, please wait for my invoice so I can combine postage.

When payment is received by teatime British time (it is usually dished up about 4:30) I normally post the item the next morning. Our village post office is closed on Saturdays, however, so if you pay on Friday the item will not go out until the following Monday.
