Here are two old photos of 5 siblings, the children of George Buckwalter of Honey Brook, Chester County, Pennsylvania.  First is a cabinet card photo of a man dressed in dark pants and suit jacket, with a white shirt and dark color bow tie.  He is also wearing a light color hat, with light color, curly hair sticking out from under it.  On the back he is identified as Arthur Buckwalter, there is no date or place written on the photo and no photographer's mark.  The second photo has 4 kids featured, two old boys standing in back of a chair with two younger children, and boy and a girl, sitting in it.  On the back they are identified as George, Howard, Hannah Eliza and Ira Buckwalter.  I did some research and found George, Howard, Eliza and Ira in the 1900 U.S. Census living in Honey Brook, Chester Co., PA.  George was listed as born Sept. 1886, Howard born Nov. 1889, Eliza (Hanna Eliza) born Dec. 1891 and Ira born Aug. 1893.  There was also an older sister Mary.  They are listed as the children of George and Sallie Buckwalter, their father is listed as a farmer.  Further research showed that the father, George was married twice, first to Ella Cairns, who was the mother of Arthur and Mary and another son, John.  After Ella's death in 1881, George married Sarah (Sallie) Ramsey who was the mother of George, Howard, Hannah Elizabeth and Ira.  Hannah, who went by Elizabeth married Irwin Henny and lived in Lancaster, PA.  She worked for Armstrong Cork Co.  She died there in 1950.  George married Adeline Brown and moved to Pittsburgh, PA.  One census record says he was a Street Car Operator in Pittsburgh.  He died in 1941.  Ira Buckwalter married Marie Haines.  He was a tax collector and then mayor of Honey Brook.  He passed away in 1971.  Howard moved to Columbus, Ohio, where census records show he worked as a car mechanic, insurance salesman and automobile insurance salesman.  He married Lucy O'Hara in Michigan.  He died in 1961.  Arthur Buckwalter was twice married, 1st to Susie Yocum Middleton, who he married in 1925, she passed away in 1934.  He then married Esther May Balzer in 1936.  Arthur died in 1955.  The photo of the one son is nice and clear, the cardboard it is mounted on has rough edges and corners. The photo of the four children is faded, but still can see them. It was mounted in a cardboard mat that has rough edges and corners, and the photo came loose from the mat and was taped into it.  Great old photos for anyone researching the history of the Buckwalter family.  Postage will be 4.70 to the U.
