2 Antique Sterling Silver Panel Band Thimbles

 American * Circa 1880

Both of these sterling silver thimbles have wide 10 panel bands with hand engraved abstract designs on alternate panels. One has lovely diamond knurling and is unmarked except for the size on the band (8). The other has the early (tiny) Simons Bros. shield logo in the top. It has the size (10) on the band but is actually a size 9. Both test solid sterling silver but they are not so marked.

Both are in excellent condition, in round with no holes, dents or repairs. They have no personalization. Several early panel band thimbles just like these are shown on p. 40 of Gay Ann Rogers American Silver Thimbles book.
