COMPLETELY GONE THROUGH & TUNED STANLEY 604  TYPE 4  CORRUGATED  SOLE PLANE  1908 - 1910

9-1/2" long , 2-3/8 wide , cutter 2" wide

PAT.D APR.2.95 behind frog

B casting mark on frog and lever cap.

work done

The body and frog were cleaned and waxed.
All the hardware was cleaned and oiled. All tread holes are cleaned and oiled
The Rosewood Tote & knob are very nice. Both were cleaned and waxed several times to get a very smooth natural finish.
The sole was lapped "correctly". All lapping is done by hand on a large granite slab.
Cheeks were lapped and the rail's were cleaned and smoothed out. One rail had a very small chip on the toe which I repaired by building up a weld then shaping it. Its very solid hardly visible. absolutely not a issue at all nor will it ever be.
Frog face & seats lapped.
Cap iron was cleaned and lapped.
The Cutter was lapped and sharpened. Its extremely sharp and cuts superb shavings leaving a very smooth finish on the wood surface. Cutter was replaced.
The Lever cap was cleaned then lapped at its contact point.

This is excellent plane. Plane work's superb it will be a excellent asset to any shop or collection.

I have been selling my planes on eBay for over 20 years and have always strived to put out a excellent plane at a very reasonable price and back it with a """"100 percent satisfaction guarantee"""".  I go through each plane completely which most importantly includes lapping them "correctly"  Using a belt sander is the quickest way to destroy a plane and just buffing the cheeks and sole to make them look good does absolutely nothing for a plane.
