SUPERB Geo.III HALLMARKED STERLING SILVER HELMET CREAM JUG –
LONDON 1803
This is a stunning, 'crisp' George III. Sterling silver helmet shaped cream jug made by 'SAB?' (I’m very unsure of the mark – it may be for the London silversmith S. Adams [I or ll] with an over-struck B?) and assayed for London 1803. In good heavy gauge of silver, it is depicted in a helmet shape form with high looped handle and decorated with hand engraved foliate banding to its rim and base and a laurel cartouche, with engraved initials, to its front and reeding to the looped handle. The above hallmarks are struck crisp and clear to the underside of the lip, although, as I mentioned, the maker's mark is slightly unclear- see detailed photographs.
It measures 4 1/4" (11cm) H (base to handle) x 4 1/2" (11.5cm) W (lip to handle) x 2 3/4" (7cm) D and weighs 97gms approx; and is in truly excellent condition for a piece of its age and type and has no defect at all to report apart from very light wear consistent with its age - see photographs.
This is a superb piece of period Georgian sterling silver table furniture that’s in really great condition and with a low start price should get considerable interest from all collectors.

All items will be forwarded (nationally) special delivery post only and (internationally) insured express (tracked & signed for) post.
All consignments exceeding 2kg will be shipped via courier (usually ups), with a four day minimum dispatch time national & international, and five days for items via courier, but in reality I usually ship within two working days after cleared payment.
The shipping cost includes a small packaging and handling charge and therefore does not reflect postage alone.
RETURNS
Returns are accepted within 14 days with the return shipping cost at the buyer's expense.
Almost everything I sell is in the condition I have bought it, unless otherwise stated, (I have learnt to my cost in the past not to tamper with an item), and therefore I have neither had items repaired nor restored. I will endeavour to report on an item which has had either; however I take no responsibility if an item has been tampered with and I cannot detect it.
OVERSEAS BUYERSAs different countries have different import laws and regulations it is incumbent upon the buyer to know what these are in relation to what they are bidding on. Almost all items I sell are antique unless otherwise stated and therefore well within the import requirements of this country, but maybe a grey area elsewhere, so please take note no responsibility will be taken if a problem with customs occurs.
