``Utakunitsugu'' is an old sword made in Etchu Province (Toyama Prefecture).
Kunitsugu Uda is a swordsmith who is said to have been active in Etchuchu (Toyama Prefecture) during the Muromachi period.
The Uda school was founded by Kunimitsu, and flourished during the Muromachi period, with swordsmiths such as Kunifusa, Kunimune, and Kunitsugu active during the Nanbokucho period.
According to the inscription, the first Kunitsugu was Kunimitsu's younger brother, and there were several generations with the same name until the late Muromachi period.
An "Ancient Art Export Inspection Certificate" has been issued by the Agency for Cultural Affairs.
