To celebrate the United States hosting the 1994 FIFA World Cup, the United States Mint released a special Limited Edition Proof Set...the 1994 World Cup Prestige Proof Set. The proof set contained the same 5 coins a collector would receive from the San Francisco Mint Proof Set, as well as two one-of-a-kind add-ons! These two special edition coins have collectively become known as the "World Cup Dollars", which included both a copper clad Half Dollar and a 90% Silver Dollar. Both coins feature the official World Cup USA logo from 1994 on one the reverse and soccer players in motion on the obverse.
