This sale is for a large size vintage hardback FIRST EDITION entitled “Queen Caroline,” by His Honour Sir Edward Parry, with 8 illustrations, including a frontispiece portrait of Caroline, Princess of Wales.

 

It was published by Ernest Benn Ltd., of London, in MCMXXX and is the 1930 FIRST EDITION (stated).

 

Caroline of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel (Caroline Amelia Elizabeth - later Queen Caroline 1768-1821) was the wife of King George IV of Great Britain from 1795, and his (estranged) queen consort from 29th January, 1820 until her death in 1821.

 

The book measures 9.75 inches x 6.75 inches x 1.75 inches thick! and has 353 pages + illustrations. 

 

The book is in good, neat condition for its age, with wear/scuffs to the ends of the faded spine of the original cloth hardback cover, with a previous owner’s gift inscription at the front, foxing near the covers/rims, and no other ink or pencil markings in the book. The binding is good with no loose or missing pages.  There is no dust-jacket.
