DESCRIPTION:

These vintage wooden Indian clubs became popular in the 1800s when soldiers would exercise with them. By the late 1890s young boys from India would exercise with them to gain strength. They ultimately caught on with exercise clubs in the U.S., especially with women. The Overman Wheel Company was an early high-end bicycle manufacturing company in Massachusetts from 1882 to 1900. Overman sold his business in 1900.  These Indian clubs are 18" tall. One is 1 pound and 8.5 ounces; the other is 1 pound and 8 ounces. No wood cracks or splits. They have not been polished. A great conversation piece to put in your home or business! Thanks for looking. Local pick-ups okay.
