American Modern, which started the mid-century modern dinnerware movement in the United States, was designed in 1939 by Russell Wright (1904-1976).  It was produced by Steubenville Pottery Company of Steubenville, Ohio. During its production between 1939 to 1959, it was the best-selling dinnerware line in the United States. Wright's dinnerware is found in The International Museum of Dinnerware Design. This plate is in fair condition and shows evidence of use. Local pick ups are ok.
