Signed during Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin's Apollo 11 mission!

It may be hard to believe but it was only 75 years ago that humankind figured out that elements are created in stars... and it is to Fred Hoyle that we are largely indebted for this fundamental insight.  And oh-by-the-way we also owe Fred for coining the term "Big Bang"  - never mind it was created to publicly ridicule the theory during a live BBC broadcast!

You are bidding on Rockets in Ursa Major, a novel authored by Hoyle and brother Geoffrey.  This true 1st edition / 1st printing was published in the UK by William Heinemann back in 1969 and this copy retains the original British price on the dust jacket.

It is signed by both Fred and Geoffrey without inscription and dated July 21st, 1969, almost certainly as Neil and Buzz rested in their lunar module prior to leaving the surface of the moon.

Condition is truly excellent for such an old book:  the text remains clean and bright, though you will find foxing on the endpapers and upper page block; the boards retain their rich coloring and sharp corners.  And despite some mild wear the dust jacket too looks very appealing, especially with the new mylar cover I've added.
