About the subject:
Michael Martin is a legendary underground figure in the world of New Orleans theatre, having made his name as one of the best known and loved actors, directors and producers in the city. Michael has most recently broken into the film world with his starring role in “Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets,” directed by the Ross Brothers. The photo offered here is from a production of Driving Miss Daisy (in which Michael played Miss Daisy) directed by
Christopher Bentivegna. This production has never been before a live audience, as it was scheduled to premier just before the national lockdown due to the current pandemic. The photographer, Louis Maistros, was asked to shoot production stills shortly before the decision was made to postpone live theatrical performances of the play.
