This is a Reinhold Hanke lidded stein from Germany featuring a full-color, high relief design of a scene with Siegfried and Gutrune from the Wagner opera The Ring of the Nibelung. The stein stands at 12.5 inches tall and weighs 3 pounds and 11 ounces. It was likely made in the first quarter of the 20th century. It is marked Germany on the base and the mold number stamp 1944 appears on the base on on the side of the vessel. It is an amazing piece of art, as well as an important piece of historical breweriana.
