Description
Omoikane is the Shinto god of wisdom and intelligence.
His name means "serving one's thoughts." He was ofetn called upon by other dietri (gods) to help make decisons. In one myth, Amaterasu (sun goddess) hid in a cave and Omoikane was tasked to find a way to get her out.
He is said to be the child of Takamimusubi, but according to some depictions, it is the god of Tokoyo (the endless country). Omoikane is a revered form of thoughts, intelligence, and wisdom.

Traditional Folk Performing Arts in Okayama Prefecture.
Designated by the national government as an important intangible folk cultural property.
It was originally performed to pray for the repose of the soul of the god Aragami, for a good harvest, and for the safety of the family. This became the central dance of Bicchu Kagura.

There are some scuffs and stains associated with age.
There is some deterioration of glue around the beard.
The signature of the craftman is carved on the back part of the mask.
