Marshall cabinet model 2196

Proper wood, not chipboard

These cabs were made between 1976 and 1981

This cab is from 1976 and is fitted with the original McKenzie speakers, these speakers were fitted to these Marshall cab models between 76 and 81, the two 12inch speakers are 8ohm 80w speakers wired in parallel to give this cab an output of 160w at 4ohms .

At the time Marshall used McKenzie speakers because Celestion didn’t produce an 80w speaker at that time so McKenzie got the contract.

It’s a full size cab fitted with the powerful McKenzie’s and it’s ready to rock and roll !!!

These mid to late 70’s cabs were built right using quality ply wood materials, not the later poorer quality chipboard used on later cabs.

This cab is in excellent condition and has been checked and serviced prior to listing.

At this time Jim Marshall at the end of the day would quality check and sign a number of cabs and this has a Jim signature in pencil, all cabs at the time were checked and signed off by the builder after assembly, !!!

Did Jim sign this one, I don’t know, perhaps ?
