JADE GEMSTONES:

Stability  Longevity  Fertility  Serenity  Wisdom  Practicality Tranquility  Balance  Peace  Harmony  Moderation  Perspective

The name Jade is derived from the Spanish piedra de la ijada, which means "stone of the colic”. Most of the world's commercial supply of Jade comes from China, Russia, and the U.S., though the mineral is found all over the world.

Jade can refer to either of two different silicate minerals: nephrite or jadeite.

Jadelite (a sodium aluminum silicate) can be found in pure emerald greens, lavender, red, orange, yellow, blue, brown, white, black, and gray. The most prized color of jadeite is a specific shade of green: “Imperial Jade” is the name given to the rare kind of jadeite that is semi-translucent and gives off a vibrant emerald green color.

Nephrite (a calcium magnesium silicate) typically only grows within a short spectrum of different shades of darker green, grey-green, white, yellowish and sometimes black.

Jade is a symbol of serenity and purity.  It is said to signify wisdom gathered in tranquility.  It increases love and nurturing.  A protective stone, Jade keeps the wearer from harm and brings harmony.  Jade attracts good luck and friendship.  It stabilises the personality and promotes self-sufficiency.  Soothes the mind, releasing negative thoughts.  Stimulates ideas.  A “dream stone”, Jade brings insightful dreams.  It aids emotional release, especially of irritability.
