Antique Sterling Silver Folk Art Band Thimble

This antique sterling silver thimble is rimless and the wide band is hand engraved with "folk art" leaves and scrolling vines. Inside the top it's marked with the star logo of the Waite, Thresher Co. of Providence, Rhode Island along with the size (9) and "Sterling". The cartouche has an engraved inscription "R.B.G. 1909".

This thimble is shown on p. 115 (plate 5-1) of Gay Ann Rogers' book American Silver Thimbles. The condition is excellent, crisp and in round with no holes, dents or repairs.
