This folk art piece features bright colorful fish swimming upwards to the surface.   Retains old paper label on the back and details this piece was made by the Huichol Indians and purchased at Echo Galleries .  12" wide x 10 1/2" tall.  Overall excellent condition

Huichol paintings are made with beeswax spread on wood, then left to warm in the sun. The artist then scratches his design into the wax with a sharpened stick. The lines of the drawing are then filled in by patiently twisting and coiling colored yarns
