Bespoke, handmade/re-worked vintage gown, created by myself for my own label Meg Lara Atelier as part of my A/W 22 collection 'Spellbound', and featured on the runway at York Fashion Week.

This piece was created using a vintage 1960's gown that was damaged and discoloured and re-fashioned into something new. Made from a lovely bottle green satin, the bodice is boned for structure, with a square neckline. The high waist is accentuated with a black velvet sash that gathers into a point at the centre front with a large vintage belt buckle in bright gold. The full skirt is full of volume and bounce, and is supported by a black organza petticoat. The skirt hem is trimmed with black velvet ribbon, which echoes the ribbon detailing on the sleeves. The statement 'leg of mutton' sleeves inspired by the Victorian era sit high on the shoulder and extend into delicate points around the wrists which sit elegantly over the hands. The points are trimmed with black velvet, with the cuffs fastening with vintage gold buttons and velvet loops.

This dress fastens up the centre back with the original vintage zipper and is fully lined.

As this piece was originally in damaged condition before I fixed it up, as well as being worn on the runway and for photoshoots, there are some areas of imperfection worth mentioning!
* A tiny hole on the front of the bodice
* Hook and eye missing at the top of the zipper
* Some crinkling in the fabric on the skirt around the hem
* Discolouration of fabric and some water marks particularly on the skirt

Otherwise, this dress is perfectly wearable and is in good condition! It's a one of a kind sample piece and cannot be replicated. I left the original vintage labels in there as well as added my own (my brand was formally known as Elaramoon), and have styled it up both as a 'witchy' kind of costume (very 'Wicked!'), as well as part of a more modern aesthetic. I've done my best to capture the colour as accurately as I can, but green is particulalrly hard to photograph. It's a bottle green/emerald green depending on the light.

The measurements are approximately:

Bust: 31 Inch
Waist: 27-28 Inch
Waist to hem of skirt: 19-20 Inch
