Absolutely incredible vintage handmade theatre costume! This 'pineapple' dress was originally made for stage productions of the well known musical, 'Grease'.
1950's 'pin up' kind of style gown, with halter neck, boned bodice and full swinging circle skirt with built in petticoats.
The bust is decorated with ruffles and green glass beads which catch the light beautifully! The same beads decorate the waistband, bow at the back and the sheer ruffled overskirt. The main dress is a golden yellow, with quilted, applique pineapples on the main skirt. There are several layers of net and tulle to give the skirt volume, as well as boning, padding and elastic on the inside for structure and support. The dress fastens with a series of hooks and eyes as well as press studs on the skirt. The pads in the bust can also be removed easily if you need more room!

This piece has clearly been worn several times and so there are various signs of wear which I will list here:
* Areas where green beads have come off on the bust, sash, bow and skirt
* Areas where the sheer fabric is close to tearing or is looking worn (particularly on the bow)
* A tiny stain on the skirt (mostly covered by the sheer overskirt)
* The inside of the halter strap is stained with makeup, as are several areas on the lining. Could do with a bit of a dry clean or hand wash.
All of these things are visible in attached photos.

This piece could do with a little TLC but it still has lots of wear left and would look amazing at an event, in a styled photoshoot or on display somewhere! I'm actually really sad to part with these as they are so incredible, but unfortunately they aren't my size.

Measurements are approximately:

Bust: 28-30 Inch
Waist: 26 Inch
Waist to hem: 27.5 Inch

I have three of these available, all of which are slightly different but look amazing together! Check out my other listings if you are interested in purchasing more than one.
