Add a touch of Christmas magic to your home decor with this charming lightweight handmade vintage blanket featuring 30 blocks of applique Christmas trees using a variety of holiday-themed print cotton fabrics in gorgeous shades of green, all upon a white background. The blanket would look beautiful displayed on a quilt rack, thrown over the back of a couch, or placed atop your bed. Please note that there is no quilted type of stitching present on the exterior, nor is there any type of insulating filling material inside.

The blanket measures approximately 76x94 inches. This means that it would generously fit a twin sized bed with nice deep draping over the sides. Quilting experts advise 74x85in minimum for fulI mattresses, so it would also look amazing as a full bedspread but provide less draped overhang on the sides.

My own dear grandmother, an avid quilter, always said "you should never use or wash your quilts because once you do the they'll NEVER look as good as they did before." If you want to make absolutely certain you're doing the utmost to preserve its original beauty and condition then you would want to either hand wash or abstain from any active use altogether beyond just having it out for seasonal display. That being said, most normal human beings like to use and wash their blankets 😆 and I think that you could probably get away with a careful machine wash using cold water on a delicate cycle.

I acquired this beautiful blanket at an estate sale of an Eastern North Carolina woman who had been a lifelong seamstress, quilter, and crafter. I could hardly believe my eyes when I stumbled upon her treasure trove of stockpiled unused handmade quilts, crocheted afghans, and wall hangings. Like the other items I purchased from her sewing room closet that day, this blanket appears to be unused and shows zero signs of wear whatsoever. Her surviving daughters told me that their mother had made this blanket during the 1990s.
