A rare gorgeous Meiji Japanese Cloisonné vase with gold and very fine silver wire.  The vase is in round form with a double wall neck construction and matching border design above the foot.

The design is of two brightly colored birds perched on a blooming wisteria vine with clumps of sumptuous white and purple flowers.  There are classic lappet-wing cicada borders at the top of the design.  Very fine silver wire is used for most of the vase but gold wire issued for p[arts of the birds and some of the vines.

The vase is 10" tall.  There is no signature but the base has been drilled where there may have been a signature.    The condition is excellent except for a small crack to the left of the birds, in the dark background (see close-up).  Stand not included.
