PIGS IN SPACE Miss Piggy & Link Hogthrob book 1983 sci-fi parody Muppet Show

This is “Pigs In Space,” by Ellen Weiss, a previously-owned softcover book manufactured by Random House in 1983. It is in great shape and runs 32 pages…

"Pigs in Space" was a parody of science fiction programs like “Star Trek,” but also 1930s sci-fi serials. The spacecraft was called USS Swinetrek and the title voice-over was a parody of “Lost in Space.” It featured Captain Link Hogthrob, Dr. Julius Strangepork (the name a take-off on "Dr. Strangelove"), and Miss Piggy as First Mate. Usually, the sketches involved the long-suffering Piggy putting up with the wacko Strangepork and the brain dead Link treating her as an inferior because she is a female (even though she arguably dwarfs them in brainpower).
