Heckel Bass Clarinet Full Overhaul Extraordinary HISTORIC COLLECTION

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Best known for their bassoons, the Heckel company made a variety of woodwinds prior to World War II, and this is a gorgeous, near-pristine example of an exceedingly rare Heckel bass clarinet. Instrument is notable for it's downward-facing wood bell, and for the fact that it is made of maple instead of the more common Grenadilla or rosewood. The maple body construction makes this instrument a very responsive player and plays more like a soprano than a bass.

This instrument has been painstakingly overhauled by our clarinet specialist. With all new pads, and freshly adjusted action, this instrument will arrive to you ready to play.

Provenance: The Historic Collection. This is from the collection of a well-known researcher and historian of woodwinds who spent a lifetime collecting rare and unique instruments. We are privileged to offer items from this collection for sale.
