The shoulder strap is adjustable and could be removed if you wanted but I don't know why you would.

No signs of use. Very nice. Clean, no smells, no stains, no fraying. Compartments are clean. Zippers are great. In one pic I'm showing the back and one showing the bottom. Hard to tell the difference because both are so clean. Also trying to show both compartments but that's hard to get a photo of.
