Charming English primitive landscape painting from the mid years of the Victorian era. Signed lower left indistinctly. Lovely scene showing signs of its age- it could do with a clean if desired!
Age- c1860
Size- 17.5 by 21.5 inches approx including frame
Medium- Oil on wooden panel.
Frame- Later wooden frame, some knocks and losses, offered free with the painting.
Condition- We would be very happy to hang this one as found- it is very atmospheric. There is however a good deal of varnish browning and some craqueleur visible. Some scuffs in places notably lower right.
Signature- Indistinctly lower left.
