This vintage 1956 Duraglas 4 Gallon Cough Syrup Display Bottle is a great addition to any collection.
With a clear color and medicine bottle type, it is perfect for display or practical use.
The bottle is 20" X 8.5" X 6.25" in size and was manufactured in the United States.
The bottle is labeled as containing cough syrup and is a great example of modern medicine packaging.
It is a unique piece of history and would make a great gift for any collector or medicine enthusiast.
My guess is that it contains about 4 gallons, but this cannot be confirmed.
Here's the story about this bottle.
As a kid in the 60s-70s, I would go to the drug store to get candy and comic books, etc.
I saw the store was closing in 1989-1990.
I went in and bought the bottle from the back shelf in the Pharmacy.
I took screen shots showing it.
I have had it all these years. It is time to sell it.
I was searching for info on the bottle and the pharmacy and found the video of the store closing
with the bottle on the back shelf. What are the odds?
I remember the blue water being in the bottle, and he poured it out for me.
Not sure what happened to the stopper. I don't remember having it.
the bottle is dated on the bottom: “56” for 1956.
In the video he says he was there for over 32 years.
The store was located at 43rd and Bradley Rd in Brown Deer, WI
The shopping center was called Bradley Village
The pharmacy was called Altman's Bradley Village Pharmacy
